Unwriteit ("we", "us") provides an AI tool that removes handwriting from images of worksheets, exam papers, and similar documents. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account information. When you sign up with email or Google, we store your email address and name (if provided) so you can log in on the website and the Chrome extension.
• Content you upload. Images you submit for handwriting removal, and the cleaned images we return to you. They are stored so the service can process your request and so you can view and download your history.
• Payment information. Subscriptions and credit packs are processed by Stripe. We receive payment confirmations and subscription status; we never see or store your full card number.
• Usage records. Your credit balance and a ledger of credit changes (purchases, cleanups, bonuses, referrals), plus basic job records, so we can operate your account correctly and prevent abuse.
• Browser storage. The website keeps a login token and your credit balance in your browser's local storage (keys starting with uw_) to keep you signed in. The Chrome extension keeps the same session in its own local storage so the website and the extension stay in sync.

How we use it

• Provide the handwriting-removal service and your download history.
• Manage credits, subscriptions, and one-time purchases.
• Operate referral bonuses and free-trial credits.
• Provide customer support and detect misuse or fraud.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your uploaded images for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run Unwriteit:

• Cloudflare (Workers, D1, R2, Pages) — hosting, database, and file storage.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Our AI erasure provider — receives the image you submit, solely to perform the handwriting-removal processing.

We may also disclose data if required by law.

Data retention

Your account data is kept while your account is active. Uploaded images and results are kept so your history and downloads keep working. If you want your account and associated data deleted, email [email protected] from your account email and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Email [email protected] and we will respond to your request.

Children

Unwriteit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest version.
